Marsha grew up in Minneapolis and moved to Seattle in 1998, where she began a twenty-year career as a veterinary nurse. Her love of animals and longing for the sea drew her westward, eventually leading her to Whidbey Island, Washington, where the cool, wet air and the smell of salty brine resonated with her Celtic heritage.
However, it was her passion for all things knitting, especially creating unique yarn creations, that inspired her entrepreneurial leap to open her own yarn store. Skein & Tipple in Clinton, WA opened in December of 2021, and now she proudly offers Salt & Color yarn at her new shop, Purl Dive, located in the beautiful and wonderful La Conner, WA!
Salt & Color yarn is hand-dyed with acid dyes and stabilized with citric acid, ensuring that the colors are vibrant and colorfast with minimal to no color transfer or bleeding. We source only the highest quality fibers from ethical practices, where mulesing is not practiced.
Each handcrafted colorway of Salt & Color yarn is truly one-of-a-kind, featuring its own unique variegations and tones. We want you to know that the skeins you choose will allow you to create unique yarn creations that are equally distinctive. Anything you craft with Salt & Color yarn will become a unique work of art.
