Hand-Dyed Yarn

Marsha grew up in Minneapolis and moved out to Seattle in1998 where she embarked on a twenty-year career as a veterinary nurse. It was her love of animals and longing for the sea that drew her westward, and eventually to Whidbey Island, Washington where the cool wet air and the smell of salty brine spoke to her Celtic heritage.

But it was her passion for all things knitting that drove her to take that entrepreneurial leap to open her own yarn store. Skein & Tipple in Clinton, WA opened in December of 2021 and now, Purl Dive in beautiful, wonderful La Conner, WA!

Salt & Color yarn is hand-dyed with acid dyes – stabilized with citric acid. The dyes are colorfast with minimal to no color transfer/bleeding. Only the highest quality fibers are used and come from ethical sources where mulesing is not practiced.

Being hand-dyed, each colorway is one-of-a-kind, with its own unique variegations and tones. So, we want you to know that the skeins you take with you will create something that, in turn, is also one-of-a-kind. Whatever you create with Salt & Color yarn will truly be a unique work of art.
